LEGO Disney – 43300 – Winnie the Pooh

I will be honest, I went into this one expecting something cute but fairly simple. Winnie the Pooh, a honey pot, some classic characters. Nice shelf piece, easy build, done. What I got instead was a surprisingly layered and detailed set that kept revealing more than I anticipated at every stage. LEGO 43300 is one of those sets that earns its piece count in ways that do not become obvious until you are deep into the build.

    Building Pooh Himself

The centerpiece of the set is a brick-built Winnie the Pooh figure that stands over nine inches tall, and this is where the detail really starts to shine. Pooh is fully poseable, with a head, ears, arms, and hands that can all be repositioned. The construction uses a mix of curved elements and SNOT techniques that give him a softness and roundness that LEGO brick figures do not always pull off convincingly. Getting the proportions right here took real design work, and you feel that throughout the build. He looks like Pooh. Not a blocky approximation of Pooh. The actual bear.

    The Honey Pot

The honey pot surprised me even more than Pooh did. From the outside it looks like a chunky decorative jar, and that would have been enough. But it opens up to reveal two interior rooms, and those rooms are packed with tiny details that you simply do not see coming when you first look at the box art. It is the kind of design choice that makes a set feel genuinely thoughtful rather than just decorative. There are hidden Easter eggs scattered throughout as well, which adds a fun layer for anyone who wants to slow down and look for them while building or displaying.

    The Characters

The set includes two LEGO Disney characters inside the honey pot: a Winnie the Pooh minifigure and an Eeyore figure. Having both of them tucked away in those interior rooms is a charming touch. It gives the honey pot a reason to be opened beyond the novelty of it, and it reinforces that this is a display piece designed to reward a closer look. Eeyore in particular is a welcome addition, and his sulky little presence fits perfectly with the overall mood of the set.

    Display Presence

On the shelf, this set holds its own. Pooh stands tall as the obvious focal point, and the honey pot sits naturally beside him without competing. The color palette is warm and familiar, all yellows, oranges, and earthy tones that feel right at home with the source material. Whether you grew up with the original A.A. Milne books or the Disney animated version, there is something in this set that is going to land for you. It is a 1,399-piece set that somehow still manages to feel cozy.

    Final Thoughts

LEGO 43300 Winnie the Pooh is a set that consistently gives you more than you expect. The brick-built figure is beautifully done, the honey pot interior is a genuine surprise, and the little details tucked throughout the build make it feel like it was designed by people who actually care about the source material. If you have any affection for these characters, this one is worth your time and your shelf space.

LEGO Ideas – 21357 – Disney Pixar Luxo Jr. Lamp

This set blew me away. It’s a beautifully crafted homage to Pixar’s iconic Luxo Jr. short animation, and LEGO packed it with so many hidden easter eggs it became a highlight of the build experience.

    Build Overview

Luxo Jr. is fully poseable, bouncing, hopping, swiveling, thanks to clever mechanics under the lampshade. Building the lamp itself is satisfying, using Technic elements, angled connectors, and rubber bands to recreate that signature lamp motion.

The Pixar Ball and Layered Easter Eggs

The real fun starts when you build the Pixar ball base. It cleverly hides a miniature Pizza Planet truck inside the bulb element, a classic nod to nearly every Pixar film.

Underneath the curved exterior tiles are over 30 stacked 1×1 plates and tiles in colors representing characters from Pixar movies. Woody and Buzz from Toy Story, Carl and Russell from Up, Sully and Mike from Monsters Inc., Remy and Linguini from Ratatouille, Joy and Sadness from Inside Out, Dory and Nemo from Finding Nemo, Lightning McQueen and Mater from Cars, Miguel and marigold flowers from Coco, Flik and Princess Atta from A Bug’s Life, and the Incredibles family plus the Omnidroid. Every pair is represented in color-matched bricks that you stack one by one during the build.

Building the layers is like a treasure hunt. You stumble across familiar color combos, and eventually they click when you recognize the characters.

    Design and Mechanics

Everything clicks together seamlessly. The lamp’s shade swivels and the springs are rubber bands nestled inside silver hoses, a nod to real lamp mechanics. The attention to detail is impressive. It moves like a toy, but looks like art.

    Final Thoughts

Luxo Jr. is not just fun to build, it’s fun to discover. The hidden characters, the play features, the artful design, it all adds up to a set that keeps giving. It’s clever, playful, and full of charm. Pixar fans and builders who appreciate clever design are going to love this one.
