If you’re a fan of the KPop Demon Hunters film, this set is going to put a big smile on your face. Set 72537 brings two of the film’s most lovable characters to life in brick form, and it ended up being one of the most fun builds I’ve done in a while, mostly because I had my 6-year-old daughter sitting next to me for the whole thing.

Unboxing and First Impressions
Inside the box you get a nicely organized set of 7 numbered bags and everything you need to build both Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird. My daughter spotted the characters on the box and was already invested before we opened the first bag. The pieces are colorful, the character shapes come through early in the build, and there’s a real sense of fun baked into the whole thing from the start.
Building Derpy Tiger
Derpy Tiger is the star of the show, and the build reflects that. The head is where things get really interesting, it’s designed to hold two different facial expressions, so you can show off Derpy’s big grin or swap it out to have him delivering a love note on his tongue. My daughter thought that was the greatest thing she’d ever seen. It’s a simple swap but it works really well and adds a lot of replay value to the finished figure. The movable head, legs, and paws mean you can pose him all kinds of ways, and we spent a good chunk of time after the build just trying out different positions.
There’s also a secret compartment hidden inside his head for storing the included accessories. That sent my daughter over the moon. Highly recommend letting your kid find that one on their own.
Building Sussie Bird
Sussie Bird is a quicker build than Derpy but she’s no less charming. Her neck rotates, her feet are posable, and she pairs perfectly with Derpy when you set the two of them up together. By the time we finished Sussie, my daughter had already started staging little scenes with both characters on the table. That’s when you know the set is doing its job.
Accessories
The set comes with two love notes and a flowerpot that’s designed to be knocked over. Small details, but they add a storytelling element that kids immediately latch onto. My daughter used them to act out an entire dramatic scene that I honestly couldn’t follow but enjoyed watching.
Final Assembly and Display
Once both characters are finished, they look great displayed together. The footprint is small enough for a desk or shelf, and the colors are bold and eye-catching without being overwhelming. It’s currently living on my daughter’s dresser, which feels like the right place for it.
Final Thoughts
LEGO 72537 is a genuinely fun set that’s easy to recommend. The interchangeable expressions, the secret compartment, the accessories, everything about it is designed to bring some joy, and it delivers on that. Building it with my daughter made it one of my favorite sessions in a while. She was engaged the whole time, and the finished product is something she actually plays with every day.
Whether you’re a KPop Demon Hunters fan, a parent looking for something to build with your kid, or just want something a little different on your shelf, this one is worth it.
